Oglaigh na Jim Corr

The Real IRA’s statement to Henry McDonald in The Guardian was taken with the pinch of salt it deserved from most political observers in the north.

Out of an apparently extensive statement, The Guardian decided to pick up on the apparent threat to bankers and ran with it for all it was worth. Queue stories appearing in the Wall Street Journal and Al Jazera from a statement which sounded like the afternoon rant of a former INLA member-come-taxi driver:

“Let’s not forget that the bankers are the next-door neighbours of the politicians. Most people can see the picture: the bankers grease the politicians’ palms, the politicians bail out the bankers with public funds, the bankers pay themselves fat bonuses and loan the money back to the public with interest. It’s essentially a crime spree that benefits a social elite at the expense of many millions of victims.”

Such stories have also proved prime fillet for informed political commentators such as Jim Corr. Describing the move as “clever”, the mediocre guitarist said the RIRA were “tapping into the mood of the nation”. OK so far, so good. But he went on:

It will play into the hands of the globalist social engineers who are incrementally building a scientific dictatorship. This could pave the way for other false flag attacks, with further restrictions on people’s liberties and possible martial law to be introduced. The dissidents have been infiltrated, this is obvious from the Omagh Bombing.

Glad Jim cleared that up for us. I wonder do the globalist social engineers have an ombudsman?

His own brand of lunacy would fit well in the RIRA.

P.S. Kudos to @manonmir for the Corr link
